At Life Meets Work, we live the flex work lifestyle-as freelancers, independent contractors, part-timers, etc.
Life Meets Work was built by what we believe in--that flex workers contribute in meaningful ways to the growth of a company. |

Kyra Cavanaugh, President and Founder
After working in every way possible to find work life balance (full-time, part-time, compressed work weeks, telecommuting, independent contractor, stay-at-home mom) Kyra Cavanaugh decided to make it her job to help others find easier, better, more flexible work options. She started Life Meets Work while working a part-time job, raising her three boys, and running a household.

Jaime Leick, Content Editor
Way more productive in blue jeans than nylons, Jaime Leick is a freelance writer who thrives in the solitude of at-home work. Having a blast with her own flexible lifestyle, Jaime is beyond happy to bring her editorial expertise to a company that is committed to fostering flexible workplaces. Practicing work/life balance, Jaime severs all contact for an annual week-long wilderness trip, and it hasn't cost her a client yet.

Dana VanDen Heuvel, Deacon of Buzz
We’d call Dana our resident social media guru except there’s no place to reside when we all work remotely. We’ll still give him ‘guru’ though. A nationally-recognized consultant, speaker, and author, he lives in the digital market space. Thankfully, he invites us over for lunch once in a while, leads us in a digital mantra, and then pushes us back out the door.

Kia Baker, Experience Engineer
Veteran, mother, student, entrepreneur and flexer. Whew! You know what they say about getting things done-ask a busy person. Kia is our client manager, site manager, inside sales person, and marketing assistant. Exhausted yet? Kia served eight years as a hospital corpsman in the US Navy. Now she's mother to an active toddler, part-time jeans designer, and the person who keeps us all running.

Kim Wambach, Flex Work Sherpa
Kim Wambach is our all around go-to. Former paralegal and recruiter, Kim opted to stay home in 2002 after the birth of her first child. As mom to two growing cherubs, Kim began exploring flex work opportunities that fit her family's ever-evolving lifestyle. Nothing seemed right until Life Meets Work came along. Now she supports the cause by monitoring forums, answering email, updating the site and generally keeping Kyra sane.

Joe Edakkunnathu, Web Designer
After 10 years of agency work, plus freelancing on the side, Joe Edakkunnathu decided to go all out and freelance fulltime to a) see if he could, and b) spend more time with his baby girl. He could indeed, and finds himself working now more than ever. Since their noisy little one isn't all that welcome at fancy restaurants, Joe has happily resorted to the next best thing--cooking gourmet meals at home.
