If flexible work arrangements are going to work, managers and employees need a steady flow of communication and a willingness to go above and beyond – not just for each other, but their clients as well.
Employees have so many resources available to them now such as Blackberries, iPads, Skype and VOIP, that working remotely or during off hours is not the challenge it was even 10 years ago. The bigger hurdle is keeping those lines of communication open, metaphorically speaking.
