Dear Liz,
I don’t want to count my chickens, but my husband and I feel ready for baby number two and would be thrilled to learn that we’re expecting again.
With a high-energy toddler already in the mix, I have a strong desire to get my career in sync with my mom duties for a while. Ideally, I’d stay at my current job three days a week, although I don’t see anyone around me working a schedule like that.
I don’t see why I shouldn’t at least shoot for a less-intense schedule until my kid(s) are in school. Any suggestions for planting the seeds, and/or making plans ahead of time to begin the downshifting conversation?
Yours,
Isabel
