Contribute to Life Meets Work
We are looking for articles that offer
advice, research, or best practices on flexible
work. Have something worthwhile to share? Send it
over for consideration!
For all published pieces, we will
include your byline and well as a short (50 words or
less) bio and a link or two to a relevant website or
blog. No photos, sorry!
Send articles to Jaime Leick (jleick@lifemeetswork.com).
How This Works
• The article you provide must be original. No
plagiarizing, duh! By submitting work, you are
claiming responsibility for its originality.
• We very rarely accept pieces written in the first person. Spend some time on our site, and you'll get a feel for the kind of articles we publish. Aim for traditional news-style reporting or tips pieces written in what we like to call "third person imperative."
• We prefer fresh articles that haven’t already been
published—at least not anywhere online. Let us know
where else this piece has appeared when you submit.
• We may edit your piece or request that you make
edits to meet our style and standards. No worries,
we will always get your approval before posting
edited content under your name.
• You keep the copyright to your work!
• We generally do not pay for articles.
Web Writing Tips
• Keep the piece short. Between 450 to 700 words is
best.
• Make it scannable. Use subheads and bullet points so
readers can get the point quickly. Hey, this is the
web!
• Use short paragraphs. Take a cue from print
journalists and keep your paragraphs to about two
sentences each.
We’re not looking for fluff here. Your
articles should provide solid, actionable tips or
useful best practice info targeted toward flexible
workers and/or their employers.
Note to professional researchers: Find
a nice balance between academic and accessible. Thx!
